Noise pollution is one of the extremely serious problems that greatly affect the health of the community in today's society. So what is noise pollution?

1. What is noise pollution?

Noise pollution or noise disturbance is noise in the environment that exceeds a certain threshold. This causes pain and discomfort for those in that environment.

2. Causes of noise pollution. We can divide this into two causes as follows:

a. Natural causes: This cause is understood:

The noise is generated from volcanic activity and earthquakes. However, this is only a secondary cause, only when there are volcanoes and earthquakes will there be noise pollution and only really affects households living near volcanic or earthquake areas.

b. Artificial cause: This is the main cause of environmental pollution today.

Due to moving vehicles such as cars, motorbikes, planes, trains, etc.

Due to production and business establishments

Due to construction activities

Due to daily life

Some other sources of noise pollution such as: Protests, public events, sporting events (shooting range, bicycle racing...). Sources from animals such as barking dogs, pigs, ducks from livestock households. Neighbor noises, such as loud music, screaming, breaker noises, random alarms, fireworks. Especially the sound of cell phones in public places, including classrooms and conferences, is also a source of noise pollution.

3. Effects of noise pollution

Noise pollution has extremely serious effects on human health today. Specifically like:

Increased risk of cardiovascular diseases

Psychological disorder

Reduced quality of sleep
